Project Norwich, Rose Lane Car Park, United Kingdom, British Parking Award Winner 2017

595 parking bays

HUBER designed and built the five-storey car park with its two building units – an office building and the car park – for Norwich City Council within nine months. Before that, demolishment of the existing fish market and fire station took place. The new multi-storey car park at Rose Lane is the kick-start for regeneration of the Mountergate Area in the immediate vicinity of Norwich city centre. This state-of-the-art car park offers 595 parking bays (several disabled parking bays included), additional bike bays and bicycle lock-ups as well as E-vehicle charging stations.

Extraordinary design and focus on details

Thanks to the sophisticated illumination scheme HUBER’s design concept with its extraordinary air permeable cladding consisting of lasered and edged powder coated steel  façade panels the building shows off its sparkling effect during the night. A high-end LED lighting system, CCTV, two elevators, public toilets, a baby changing room, 530 m² of solar panels, roller shutters, a parking attendant’s office are examples for the high comfort of the building. Surplus office space will be marketed to local companies.

Norwich Rose Lane Car Park is the winner of the British Parking Award ‘Best New Car Park’ of the year 2017.

It was revealed on 10th March 2017 at Lancaster London.
