Project Solihull, United Kingdom

222 parking bays

HUBER car park systems UK Ltd were asked to join this project as a specialist sub-contractor to Benniman, who were the main contractor.  The design and build of the 4-level multi-storey car park is in accordance with the HUBER system, steel frame with reinforced concrete floors, incorporating the client’s specific façade and functional requirements.

It has 222 parking bays over split levels. The ground floor is fitted with interlocking block paving giving the car park a friendly and pleasant ambience. The façade consists of natural vertical timber battens, which, again, gives the car park an all round warm and inviting feel, as well as blending in with its surroundings.

The infrastructure comprises CCTV, a state-of-the-art lighting management system offering analogue daylight, movement and time clock control. A challenging planning requirement was that there must be no light spillage from the top deck, which was solved by HUBER’s in-house designers by installing tubular lights in the parapet of the top deck, instead of the usual lighting columns. The car park has 6 electrical car chargers with scope to add more should they be required.
